Police crackdown on drunk driving

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Several law enforcement agencies are teaming up to crack down on drinking and driving.

Police in St Joseph and Elkhart County came together Tuesday to promote the "drive sober or get pulled over" campaign.

The campaign kicks off this week.

Police all over Indiana are adding patrols and sobriety checkpoints to keep drunk drivers off the roads.

"Beginning March 8 Friday officers from St. Joseph County and Elkhart County the traffic safety partnerships will supply a high visibility crackdown on impaired and dangerous driving known as 'Drive sober or get pulled over,'" said Lieutenant Tim Williams, Mishawaka Police Department.

The crackdown comes just ahead of the St Patrick’s Day holiday and March Madness.

Police just want you to celebrate responsibly.
