SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating a rollover crash that happened on W. Bonds Avenue after someone fired shots at the SUV.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m.
A man told police he was riding in the SUV when someone started firing shots at the vehicle.
The driver hit a parked vehicle in the 2600 block of W. Bonds Avenue, which caused the SUV to roll over in someone's front yard, police said.
After the crash, the driver of the SUV fled the scene.
The passenger crawled out of the SUV as police arrived on scene. He had several injuries but was not hit by gunfire, police said.
A truck in the area had damage from gunfire, police said.
