The roads could be even busier than the skies this week as AAA says a clear majority of travelers are heading for their holiday destination by car.
That's why Indiana State Police Sgt. Ted Bohner says troopers will be out in full force making sure everyone gets to and from their family gatherings safely.
Sgt. Bohner stated, "We put extra troopers, extra officers from all different departments on the roads, looking for aggressive drivers, people not wearing seatbelts, and especially drunk drivers."
The good news for drivers is gas prices are lower than last Thanksgiving.
According to Gas Buddy the national average for a gallon of regular gas is just under $3.28, 39.5 cents drop from one year ago.
