Police: Olive Street shooting likely the result of domestic dispute

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday evening in the 200 block of N. Olive. Street as a domestic dispute.

Officers were dispatched to the area after a ShotSpotter activation around 10:05 p.m.

Shortly after the officers arrived, police received a call about a 47-year-old man at the hospital with a non-life threatening wound to his leg.

The victim told police he was driving in the area of Olive and Orange when the suspect got out of another vehicle and shot at him.

The incident is being investigated as an ongoing domestic dispute.

A viewer sent a photo of the Olive and Orange intersection right after the shooting. Police said the crash was related, but they are not sure how.

The case remains under investigation.
