Potawatomi Zoo Yesterday, the Potawatomi Zoo cut the ribbon on a new zoo train, which is being sponsored by Indiana Michigan Power. The train, an electric CP Huntington train, replaces the zoo's previous gasoline train. Zoo officials say the old vehicle has needed repairs in recent years, which has necessitated repairs that shut it down for long periods.
“The zoo train runs all year long, and it is one of our guests’ favorite attractions,” says Josh Sisk, executive director of the Potawatomi Zoo. “It’s great to see kids light up when they get to ride the train and hear happy memories from adults who grew up riding the old train. We’re so glad that we can offer our guests a new train experience to share with their families.”
The zoo's season officially opens Saturday, March 28th.
