Power restoration estimates

INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER (FRIDAY 8 a.m.)

Indiana Michigan Power reports there are approximately 9,000 customers without power in Indiana and Michigan.


Crews from Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana are working around the clock to restore service.

  • Benton Harbor, Mich. 5,300

  • New Buffalo, Mich. 20

  • Three Rivers, Mich. 800

  • South Bend, Ind. 2,700




Estimated restoration times for the following areas are:



  • South Bend 95% complete by Friday at noon, full restoration by Saturday 6 p.m.

  • Three Rivers area 90% by Friday at noon, full restoration by Saturday at noon

  • Buchanan/New Buffalo area Full restoration by July 4 at noon

  • Benton Harbor area  90% by Friday midnight, full restoration by Saturday Midnight

NIPSCO has 32,000 customers without power, mainly in Elkhart, Lake, LaPorte and Porter counties.



  • Bristol 95% completion by Thursday at noon, full restoration by Thursday 10 p.m.

  • Culver 95% completion by Wednesday at 10 p.m., full restoration by Thursday at 5 p.m.

  • Goshen 95% completion by Thursday at noon, full restoration by Thursday at 10 p.m.

  • Knox 95% completion by Wednesday at 10 p.m., full restoration by Thursday at 5 p.m.

  • LaGrange 95% completion by Wednesday at 10 p.m., full restoration by Thursday at 5 p.m.

  • LaPorte 95% completion by Wednesday at 10 p.m., full restoration by Thursday at 10 p.m.

  • Middlebury 95% completion by Thursday at noon, full restoration by Thursday at 10 p.m.

  • Michigan City 95% completion by Wednesday at 10 p.m., full restoration by Thursday at 10 p.m.
