Power restoration update

Although power has been restored to most areas, Indiana Michigan Power is still working to restore power to more than 2,000 customers in some of the hardest hit areas of Michiana.

Monday's ice and wind storm knocked down trees, power lines and power poles throughout Michiana. The hardest hit areas included South Bend, Elkhart and Berrien County.

I&M says it has restored power to more than 95-percent of the customers affected by Monday's storm.

About 800 customers in South Bend and 1,200 in Michigan remain without power.

I&M expects to have power restored to all customers in South Bend by 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Residents in Berrien County residents should have service by noon Thursday.

All remaining Michigan residents should have power restored by 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

I&M says it restored power to more than 3,000 customers on Wednesday.

NIPSCO

NIPSCO says it plans to have 90-percent of customers restored by noon Wednesday. It will have all customers restored by midnight Wednesday.
