The Boppy Company and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on certain newborn loungers due to a suffocation risk.

The company and the U.S. CPSC are recalling the Boppy Original Newborn Loungers, Boppy Preferred Newborn Loungers, and Pottery Barn Kids Boppy Newborn Loungers.

There have been eight reports of infant deaths associated with the Boppy lounger and this hazard.

According to the recall, infants can suffocate if they roll, move, or are placed on the lounger in a position that restricts breathing.

Infants can also roll off the lounger and onto an external surface, like soft bedding, that can restrict breathing.

Consumers who own these products should stop using them immediately and contact The Boppy Company for a refund.

Call The Boppy Company toll-free at 800-416-1355 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.boppy.com and click “Recall & Safety Alert” for more information.
