PLYMOUTH, Ind. - From October 1 through 8, Plymouth's REES Theatre will host a week's worth of events in celebration of the theatre's grand reopening.
The historic building was built in 1865, and was turned into a theater in 1940. It anchored the downtown shopping district for decades, until it closed in 2009.
The theatre, which has been undergoing renovations for the past five years, will kick off celebrations on October 1 with the World Record Trumpet Challenge at River Park Square and a performance by Denver Bierman & the Mile High Orchestra.
A number of other events, like a free community tour, dedication ceremony, and a showing of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, will welcome in a new era for the establishment.
Tickets for the reopening celebration can be found on the REES Theatre website.
