Retired nurse goes to Liberia to fight Ebola

A retired nurse is leaving his home and headed into the center of the Ebola outbreak in Liberia to help West Africans cope with the deadly outbreak.

65-year-old Larry Turner is a retired registered nurse and psychologist.

He is hopeful to provide medical and psychological help to those fighting Ebola.

“People are really resilient, and so where you can provide some help and some laughter sometimes, because of all the trauma and all the death, you have to sometimes light a spark. My daughters told me  ‘Don't go,' saying I'm too old. They may be right, this may be the last one,” says Turner.

Before making the flight to Liberia, Turner will receive special training from the CDC.
