ORIGINAL STORY: ELKHART, Ind. -- Residents are asked to avoid the 1400 block of Huey Street Wednesday afternoon due to a joint investigation by the South Bend Police Department and the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.

St. Joseph County dispatch confirmed officers are assisting deputies in locating a suspect involved in a possible shooting and robbery nearby.

The scene is still active as of 2:45 p.m., Wednesday.

Officers on scene have located a vehicle which might be connected to the investigation.
