Riley High School students build and launch rockets

Riley High School students gathered Sunday at the University of Notre Dame's campus to launch their made-from-scratch rockets.

The students made rockets as part of their physics final exam led by their teacher, Dr. Sakimoto.

The rocket-launching included about 112 students with over 150 rockets.

Each student designed, built and launched their own rockets.

The event was sponsored by the Notre Dame Physics Department.

Funding Sources included a Notre Dame Ace for Science Grant, DonorsChoose.com, FDC Graphics and Bert Wise, Student Funds, Riley High School, and Dr. Sakimoto.
