Riley Hospital for Children plagued with bed bugs

INDIANAPOLIS -- Riley Hospital for Children is dealing with bed bugs!

Indianapolis hospital personnel said they found the little, brown insects over the weekend.

Bed bugs usually hide in mattresses, box springs, and bed frames.

They don't spread disease, but their bites itch and cause welts.

We called IU Health on Monday afternoon.

The hospital gave us this statement:

"Bed bugs continue to be an issue nationwide. To ensure the safety of our patients and families, we work closely with our infection control and environmental services departments to ensure the incident is isolated and dealt with in a timely manner."
