MICHIANA. -- Street departments and road crews on both sides of the state line prepared their trucks, plow vehicles and gear for the incoming snow expected overnight Monday into Tuesday.
The department of public works in Buchanan says they had a dedicated salt truck out in the city throughout Monday into Tuesday in anticipation of what’s expected overnight the next 24 hours.
Director of Public Works, Michael Baker, says their plan to keep the roads safe includes sending crews out by 4 a.m. Tuesday, with one route taking more than six hours.
In South Bend, more than 50 plows were out on the roads Monday in anticipation of the incoming snow.
