Road restrictions in South Bend to begin on Monday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The City of South Bend Department of Public Works will begin some work on Monday, October 26th, that will impact the flow of traffic. The restrictions will last several weeks each.

LaSalle Avenue will be restricted to two lanes of traffic between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Niles Avenue.

Crews will be installing panels on the north side of the Commerce Center development until November 16th.

The intersection of Portage and Elwood Avenues will be closed for Indiana Michigan Power to install and electric transmission system.

Northbound traffic will be detoured east onto Angela Boulevard, while southbound traffic will detour west on Bulla Street.

The intersection should be reopened by November 9th.
