SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Putting safety first!
The South Bend Fire Department opened its doors today for a special safety fair to help save lives.
Kids got a chance to learn about car seat safety and bike helmet fittings.
There was also information about gun and car safety, and, of course, what to do if their home ever catches on fire.
"This is a great event that brings together all the injury prevention services that are out there, and we just felt that it was important to bring them together under one venue and to highlight it," said Greg Bingaman: Head of Trauma Services, Memorial Hospital.
Several groups took part, including the South Bend Police Department, Memorial Hospital and the Triad of St. Joseph County.
