SBN projecting highest amount of travelers on record

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The busy holiday travel season is getting underway.

Airport spokesperson Julie Curtis says Friday and Saturday could be among the busiest for SBN on record.

“Today, we're expecting about 2900 people to board a flight from South Bend, which would be one of our top three busiest days. Tomorrow, Saturday, we expect about 2600 people to be coming through, which could break into the top 10 busiest days,” said Curtis.

Curtis says they recommend arriving at the airport two hours before your flight so you can park, check your bag, and possibly grab a bite to eat before boarding.

“It is very busy across airports across the entire United States. The airlines are doing everything they can to get everybody where they need to go, and so we just ask people to be very patient,” said Curtis.
