BUCHANAN, Mich. — The city of Buchanan will experience a planned power outage on Thursday, May 16.

The service interruption will begin at 11 p.m. on May 16 and is expected to last for approximately seven hours, according to Indiana Michigan Power. 

The event will allow crews to conduct some repairs on I & M facilities.

Customers on the outage grid will receive a phone call or message saying the following:

"Please hold for an important message from Indiana Michigan Power. This is Indiana Michigan Power calling to inform you of a service interruption scheduled for your area. The interruption is scheduled to occur on Thursday, May 16th at 11:00 PM for approximately seven hours. The interruption is necessary to safely perform work on our facilities. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this service interruption, please contact our Customer Operations Center at 1-800-311-6424. That number again is 1-800-311-6424. Thank you."
