School City of Mishawaka requiring masks in schools

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Masks will be required for students, staff, and guests at all School City of Mishawaka schools beginning Monday, August 23, the school corporation announced Thursday.

Masks will be required while indoors regardless of vaccination status.

The school corporation said they made the decision based on concerning data they found.

The average positive COVID-19 cases per day for the 2020-21 school year was 1.14.

The current average positive cases per day for the 2021-22 school year is 3.86.
