ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – Today is Kennedy Arney of St. Joseph, Michigan’s day
Seven-year-old Kennedy Arney will be named an honorary Police Officer by the Three Oaks Police Department
The naming will take place at the Village of Three Oak’s annual Flag Day parade.
“Thanks to the Police Chief there and his wife our daughter Kennedy is going to be getting a couple of really nice surprises. She’s going to be a Police Officer for a day which is what she always wanted” Kennedy’s father Michael Arney said.
Seven year old Kennedy was diagnosed with Juvenile ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
She is one of the youngest people to be diagnosed with this rare disease.
Kennedy said she has always wanted to be a Police Officer, and she is excited.
“It’s great to have a positive day and it’s a break from Doctors appointments and therapy appointment” Kennedy’s mother Jennifer said.
Today’s event will take place 1:30pm at 105 Elm Street in Three Oaks.
