BOURBON, Ind. --- A decades-old tree came crashing down, splitting in two Monday after severe storms swept through Northwest Indiana.
The tree has been on Linda Stevens property since she moved to Bourbon 52 years ago. She was driving home from work when the storm was passing and pulled into her driveway to find her favorite tree downed.
“Tiffany: what was your reaction coming home to this huge tree just down in your backyard? Linda: a little bit sick to my stomach it’s been here a long time on my children played on the street so yeah it’s pretty sad.”
Stevens says they lost power for a little while and other trees are also down in her yard as well.
“Well I don’t want to do it again anytime soon so clean up the mass and go on but we’re thankful that’s all it was.”
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
