Carrie Laine

Manistee county, MI -- A Michigan Sheriff's Department is investigating after what appears to be a razor blade was found in a piece of Halloween candy.

The Manistee County Sheriff's Department reports the small metal object was found in a piece of a Tootsie Roll on Halloween and appears to have been cut to fit into the candy.

A parent found the blade after an evening out in the Village of Wellson.

The investigation continues into where the candy may have come from.

Officials are also asking that anyone else in the Norman Township area who may have had a similar incident to call the sheriff's office.
