ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --The Mishawaka Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating a shooting and motor vehicle theft that took place shortly before midnight, near the intersection of Main Street and Lincolnway. 

A 55-year-old Mishawaka woman left Phoenix Bar and Grill and got into her vehicle when a man got in, too. 

The woman allegedly pulled out a gun, and the two fought over it before a shot was fired, hitting one of the woman's hands. 

She got out of the vehicle before the man drove off in it. 

The vehicle was found in downtown South Bend a short time later after a crash. The man was taken into custody.
