Sick student attends class with robot

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. -- A sick little girl in South Carolina is back in the classroom all thanks to technology.

Lexie Kinder has been homebound since she got sick but now she attends her classes using a robot.

It is all part of a pilot program through Verizon to help homebound kids.

Sumter County schools purchased three of the robots that run about $5,000 a piece but her parents and teachers say it is well worth the price.

Right now Lexie is just participating in math and reading classes via robot.
