ELKHART, Ind. – Simonton Lake Drive-In has officially opened for the season.
The old-school pop stand is a staple of Elkhart life.
It is known for its homemade root beer, which has been served since 1965.
The business owner said he is ready for another great year.
“I just love working here. We just try keeping it a really nice environment and I hope to be able to teach my kids how to do that and to allow them to learn that you really have to put in an effort if you want to succeed in life,” the owner, Jason Hoff said.
The drive-in is open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is located north of Elkhart by Simonton Lake.
