Temperatures are on a warming trend this week, but we are still just cool enough Monday and Tuesday to see a round of winterlike precipitation.

Precipitation Monday morning starts out as light snow showers or flurries. Only a light dusting of snow is expected.

This afternoon, precipitation begins to shift, feeling more rain like. Precipitation may lull a bit around the time of the evening commute.

With cold ground temperatures, we likely experience freezing rain late tonight into early Tuesday. This means rain will freeze once it comes into contact with the ground - roads, sidewalks, trees, car windshields, etc.

Once ice begins to accumulate, any travel will be extremely difficult. This primarily impacts any overnight travel Monday night and the Tuesday morning commute. Driving on ice Tuesday morning will be very hazardous. Sidewalks and parking lots will also be very slick when you are walking.

Precipitation continues Tuesday, but as temperatures continue to warm tomorrow, we see the transition from freezing rain to regular rain.

More rain showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday before drying out Friday.

Temperatures climb near the 40 degree mark by the end of the week.

Today: AM snow, PM freezing rain. High 30.

Tonight: Freezing rain. Low 29.

Tuesday: AM freezing rain to rain showers later in the day. High 36.

Wednesday: Rain showers. High 39.
