System snow is passing through southern parts of Michiana and is expected to finish this evening. The snow will mainly stay south of US-30, dropping about 1-3 inches. Expect messy roads, low visibility and blowing/drifting snow tonight. There will be a brief lull in snow until winds shift to become more northwesterly and trigger lake effect snow showers overnight through tomorrow morning.

Snow showers aren't the only impact—wind chills are expected to reach below zero overnight and early tomorrow morning. Snow is expected to end by the early afternoon hours with another 1-3 inches possible in northern counties. Localized areas in Berrien Co. could receive 3+ inches.

Cold air remains through Monday morning, as lows flirt with zero degrees or below. We finally will receive relief from frigid temperatures by midweek, as highs peak above freezing.

Monday: Very cold AM. Partly cloudy. High 20.
