South Bend City Clerk announces date for Parking Ticket Amnesty Day
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend City Clerk Kareemah Fowler has announced the date for the 2019 Parking Ticket Amnesty Day.
Per City Ordinance, Clerk Fowler will exercise her ability to hold an event that will forgive late fees associated with parking violations.
On Friday, April 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the City Clerk’s Office on the 4th floor of the County-City Building will allow citizens to pay their tickets.
Residents can also visit southbendin.gov to pay their tickets.
The ticket number or the ticketed vehicle’s license plate number is required for payment.
Last year, citizens paid over 600 tickets with the help of the annual program.
This amnesty program allows residents to get a clean slate and prevent future collection of costly fines, according to Clerk Fowler.
The day also brings a welcome boost to South Bend’s revenue.
