SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The Monroe Circle Community Center hosted a pop-up store Saturday at their annual holiday event.
At the store, those in need were able to buy gifts for their families at a discounted rate of 90% off.
“Instead of being prescribed a gift that they would take home and give to their child we thought, “Let’s literally just set up a store where they can come and shop and spend their money.” To have some dignity and honor in the fact that I get to present this gift to my child on Christmas morning and experience surprise and joy in our home, said Josh King, Pastor of Discipleship at Granger Community Church.
Local groups including Granger Sunrise Rotary, Above All Chiropractic and Granger Community Church provided volunteers and donated toys.
