South Bend Cubs set ticket sales record

Ticket sales for the South Bend Cubs broke records Wednesday. Individual tickets went on sale Wednesday morning and half of the available tickets were sold within an hour.

“We were prepared for a boost in preseason sales given the enthusiasm for our new affiliation with the Chicago Cubs, but nothing like this,” said Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs.  “Fans started lining up in the cold at 6:30 this morning even though the ticket office didn't open until 10.  Even Dunkin Donuts came out and donated coffee and donuts to everyone in line all morning long.  If this is a sign, the whole 2015 season will be one for the record books," said Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs.

When the ticket office closed at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the team sold 9-times as many tickets on the first day of ticket sales as they did last year.

Because of the brisk sales, only 500 stadium seats are available for opening day, April 9th.

Once those are gone, they will sell standing room only tickets.

You can buy tickets at the Four Winds Field ticket office, SouthBendCubs.com or call (574) 235-9988.
