South Bend looking for sculptors to display work at Howard Park

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Venues Parks & Arts is looking for sculpting artists in the Michiana area that want to display their work at Howard Park. All submissions should be finished works that would then be loaned to the city for two years and displayed year-round.

The SBVPA is asking for art pieces that speak to their guiding principle of “surprise and delight”, which means works that are original, creative, and dynamic.

“This is a great opportunity for us to recognize the incredible local artists we have in South Bend. There’s also a great need to highlight the importance of art within our parks, and this is one way we’re filling that gap,” said SBVPA Executive Director, Aaron Perri.

Applications were opened on Monday, July 13th and will be finished August 10th at 5 p.m.

Artists chosen to participate will be paid $1500 and will be notified they were selected on August 24th.

Artwork requirements, selection criteria, and details about the installation can be found on their website.
