South Bend man sentenced to 87 months in prison stemming from 2023 high-speed chase

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday that 29-year-old Tyshawn Kellogg of South Bend, was sentenced to 87 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, in January of 2023 Kellogg led South Bend police officers on a high-speed chase that ended when Kellogg crashed his car into a fence.

Kellogg then ran from the car, leaving behind a handgun, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and other controlled substances, according to police. Kellogg had previously been convicted of felony offenses and, as such, was prohibited from possessing the firearm in this case.
