South Bend man sentenced to nearly 18 years in prison for dealing cocaine

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A South Bend man was sentenced to nearly 18 years in prison for dealing cocaine in connection with two separate arrests in 2021.

Elijah Hurmon, 64, was sentenced in both cases on June 1.

For his March 2021 arrest, Hurmon pleaded guilty to dealing cocaine and the dealing a narcotic drug and dealing in marijuana charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

He was sentenced to 17 years in prison with credit for five days.

For the December 2021 arrest, Hurmon pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and the charges of dealing in a narcotic drug and possession of a narcotic drug were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

He was sentenced to 334 days in jail with 161 days credit.

The two sentences will run consecutively.
