South Bend man sentenced to over 11 years for armed robbery at liquor store

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A South Bend man was sentenced to over 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Sander Ray, 25, was sentenced to 11 years and eight months in prison followed by two years of supervised release.

In June 2021, Ray committed armed robbery at a liquor store and a cell phone store in South Bend, according to case documents.

In September, Ray's co-defendant, Andre Pittman, was sentenced to over 10 years in prison followed by two years of supervised release.
