South Bend man sentenced to six months in prison for theft

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The US Attorney's Office reports 26-year-old Dillan Hafer, of South Bend, was sentenced after pleading guilty to theft from the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.
Hafer was sentenced to six months in prison followed by one year of supervised release. Prior to this, Hafer already had a significant criminal history, including convictions for drug possession, auto theft, and robbery.
According to documents in the case, Hafer walked into the Pokagon Band-operated Four Winds Casino in South Bend and stole six bottles of alcohol from an unattended bar at the event center in the casino.
Pokagon Band tribal police successfully identified Hafer after reviewing casino security footage of the crime.
