South Bend man shot after drug deal goes bad, police say

South Bend Police responded to a shooting Saturday that left one man with a bullet wound to his leg.

Police say the man was shot in the 400 block of Falcon Street just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the man was involved in a drug deal that went bad.

He suffered a shattered femur in the shooting and had to undergo surgery but police say he is recovering at Memorial Hospital.

The man will be taken into custody once he’s released from the hospital because police say he had a warrant out for his arrest for a separate crime.

Police have not named any suspects or made any arrests.

No other information has been released at this time.
