South Bend opens application for High Skill Immigration Fund

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Employers can now apply for the City of South Bend's High Skill Immigration Fund, an initiative that matches the costs of sponsoring H-1B visas for international employees.

The fund will match employer costs up to $4,000 per H-1B visa candidate the employer applied to sponsor in the 2023 H-1B visa lottery.

Funding will be given on a rolling basis.

Employers have until June 1, 2023, to apply.

In addition to funding, the initiative is also sponsoring two upcoming educational events for prospective employers and employees:

  • March 28, noon to 1 p.m.
    • “How to attract international talent to your business” with guest speaker Kwame Antwi-Frempong of Aspire Business Network
