SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The South Bend Police Athletic League’s summer sports camp was in full swing at John Adams High School on Wednesday.
The day camp runs through August 1 and is a way for kids age seven to 18 to interact with police officers as well as practice sports like basketball and hockey.
“Just things going on now like just to show them they’re here for them, they’re here to have fun. It’s not always the cop role, they’re always here to have fun, play tennis. Who would think a police officer is out here playing tennis,” camp coach Raelynn Lee said.
The free camp is open to kids who live in and outside of South Bend.
Two camps are available this summer John Adams High School.
