South Bend Police Department annual food drive runs November 2-21

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Police Department is asking the community for donations during its annual food drive from November 2 to 21.

The department, along with South Bend FOP 36 and Christ Temple Apostolic Church, will be accepting donations that, when combined, will create the ingredients needed for a “traditional” Thanksgiving meal.

These donations will go to families in need in the South Bend area.

Drive organizers are asking for the following items:

  • Cans of gravy/packets of mix
  • Boxed stuffing mix
  • Instant potatoes
  • Canned yams
  • Canned vegetables
  • Bags of marshmallows
  • Cans of cream of mushroom soup
  • Boxes of Jiffy cornbread mix
  • French’s original crispy onions
  • Cash/gift cards (for organizers to purchase turkeys and other fresh items)

Donations can be dropped off at the front desk at 701 W. Sample St. in South Bend or at 1632 E. Day Road in Mishawaka.
