SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department put the ongoing problem of gun violence into perspective at its monthly crime stats meeting.
This meeting comes after a fatal shooting on Wednesday morning that left a 55-year-old man as the 14th gun homicide victim in the city this year.
Some progress is being made, but the department says more still needs to be done about the frequency of shootings in South Bend, as there have been 63 criminally assaulted shooting investigations this year.
Anyone with information on Wednesday morning’s shooting on South Michigan Street or any other shooting in South Bend, submit an anonymous tip to Michiana Crime Stoppers at (574) 288-STOP.
