SOUTH BEND, Ind. - - The South Bend Police Department fired up the grills Saturday for its annual corn roast fundraiser at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #36.
Officers cooked fresh ears of corn over open flames and served barbecue chicken, with proceeds supporting numerous department programs.
The event also featured live music from the band Blammo, a children’s area with inflatable slides, and additional fundraisers benefiting the department’s initiatives.
Department leaders said the annual corn roast not only raises money but also brings the community together in a family-friendly setting.
