Shooting injures two IUSB baseball players on South Bend's northeast side

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — South Bend Police are investigating an early morning shooting that injured two people.

The shooting happened around 2:34 a.m. Sunday morning in the 100 block of Notre Dame Avenue, just south of St. Joseph High School.

Police say a 20-year-old man victim suffered a graze wound and declined medical treatment. The other victim, a 19-year-old man, was shot in the neck and is described as being in serious but stable condition. 

According to police, there was a house party taking place hosted by students from Indiana University South Bend. Police say at some point an unknown group of males showed up to the party. One of the members of the group made a threat and showed a gun. Then the group left and shots were fired from outside towards the back of the house. 

Investigators and multiple witnesses say the victims are baseball players at IUSB. 

Police say there was a house party and someone from the outside started shooting into home. 

South Bend police say the suspect is a male last seen wearing a red hoodie and dark jeans.
