South Bend Police searching for hit and run driver

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are searching for the driver whose vehicle struck a pedestrian, then fled the scene Thursday evening.

The crash happened at Lincolway West and Goodland around 6:20 p.m.

The pedestrian was crossing Lincolnway West, but not at the crosswalk, when he was struck by a vehicle, police said.

After striking the pedestrian, the blue sedan drove away from the scene.

The pedestrian suffered broken bones and a head injury.

Police say the vehicle involved will have damage on the driver side.
