Local politicians react to U.S. strikes on Iran
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Police conducted a frantic search Friday morning for a stolen vehicle with a one-year-old inside, according to South Bend Police.
The 2011 Chevy Malibu was stolen around 7 a.m. from a home in the 600 block of N. Cushing.
The mother said the car was left running, with the child inside, when she ran to the house. When she returned outside, approximately 3 minutes later, the car was gone.
Police issued an alert for the vehicle and one-year-old Carter VanWinkle.
The vehicle was located just before 10:30 a.m. at a home in the 600 block of College Grove Avenue by Leah, the older sister of one-year-old Carter.
Paramedics responded to the scene to check out Carter for any injuries.
