South Bend receives $1M grant for road improvements

ABC 57

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program has granted South Bend $1 million to improve its roads and bridges.

"With so many people in Senate District 11 who travel to and from South Bend every day for work, it's important to ensure our roads are safe and secure," State Senator Linda Rogers (R-Granger) said. "I am pleased South Bend is receiving the maximum amount of funding to improve the local transportation networks and look forward to seeing the improvements made throughout the community."

Through the CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in construction projects to repair roads and bridges.
