SOUTH BEND, Ind. — South Bend Community Schools hosted another job fair today in an ongoing effort to fill critical staff vacancies as the academic year continues.
Despite classes already being in session, the district is seeking to hire more teachers, bus drivers, custodians, and other essential personnel. Attendees at the event were able to receive detailed information about multiple open positions, highlighting the district’s urgent need for staff.
One area of particular concern is the shortage of school bus drivers, which remains a pressing issue for South Bend schools. In response, the district has already announced plans for an additional job fair at the end of October.
School officials say these hiring events are vital to ensuring students receive the support they need throughout the year.
