South Bend Schools offering community workshops about alcohol, substance abuse

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Community School Corporation is offering three community workshops in November and December to help educate the public on alcohol and substance abuse.

Each of the meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Ballrooms A and B inside the St. Joseph County Public Library, located at 304 S. Main St. in South Bend.

Refreshments will be served during the workshops.

The workshops will cover the following topics:

November 29: Be prepared

  • Workshop includes an introduction to skill-building techniques and available resources and tools

December 6: Get informed

  • Workshop focuses on increasing awareness about underage drinking and other drug use

December 13: Take action

  • Workshop will discuss what actions to take to help prevent underage drinking and other drug use
