South Bend senior center to send 'HUGS' to troops

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend senior center is collecting goods for our troops overseas!
On Wednesday, we stopped by the sanctuary at St. Paul's.
They are gathering personal care items and snacks for U.S. servicemen and women.
Organizers said the event really means a lot to residents.
"Wonderful, they're doing so much for us. My husband used to be in the services. My grandson was in the services, but they're out now," said Loreta Maynard, a St. Paul's Sanctuary resident.
St. Paul's will be collecting items through Friday.
They will be given back to the "HUGS Project" in Goshen who will pack and ship the donations.
