South Haven man rescued after forestry accident in Berrien County

BAINBRIDGE TWP., Mich.—Authorities were dispatched to the 5000 block of Meadowbrook Road on Sunday afternoon in response to an individual involved in a traumatic accident in a wooded area.

According to the press release from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, a 55-year-old man from South Haven was struck by a limb while cutting down the tree he was still harnessed to.

Deputies freed the victim who was then air-lifted to Bronson Hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim appeared to have sustained two broken femurs and a broken arm.

The Berrien County Medical Control Authority, Benton Township Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance provided additional assistance.
