Spike in armed robberies occurring at neighborhood pharmacies

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – There's been a massive spike in armed robberies at neighborhood pharmacies, an 80 percent increase to be exact.

Thieves are not going for the cash. They want prescription pills.

Video from Indianapolis shows a man is holding a pharmacist up at gunpoint. Police say he was there to steal painkillers.

Investigators say the thieves are typically drug dealers and they can make huge profits on the street getting up to $80 for one pill, but some of the thieves are simply desperate addicts.
